Global Student Success

GSS aims to provide international and non-native English speaking students with high-quality language, academic, and cultural support and to support faculty and staff with professional development in global understanding and intercultural skills.

Office of Global Services

The Office of Global Services (OGS) is an active resource to 13,000 international students and scholars from 147 different nations across the world. OGS provides the professional expertise and support in order to maintain compliance through immigration, academic, and employment experiences—helping you remain a valuable member of the Northeastern community.

Registrar

The mission of the Office of the University Registrar is to uphold and adhere to the academic policies of the university, as well as to provide exceptional customer service. Continuous improvement of their processes, anticipation of the needs of students and faculty and the creation and maintenance of accurate data, while adhering to FERPA policy, inform all aspects of their work.

Student Financial Services

SFS is the university’s resource for all things related to student accounts, billing and payment, financial aid, student employment, tuition, and more.

 

Campus Life

Campus Recreation

Campus Recreation provides sport and fitness services for students, staff, faculty and alumni. They encourage an active, healthy lifestyle and enhance a sense of community by offering: diverse sport and fitness opportunities; distinctive facilities and equipment; educational avenues for student development; and student leadership.

Center for Intercultural Engagement

The Center for Intercultural Engagement strives to create and hold a space for all students to explore their intersecting identities, provide opportunities for students, staff and faculty to critically engage across differences, develop trainings and dialogues that build skills and foster a sense of belonging for all, and encourage community and coalition building across established groups.

Center for Student Involvement

The Center for Student Involvement encourages and facilitates a broad spectrum of educational and social co-curricular opportunities designed to enhance the experiential learning and holistic development of our students. Through innovative leadership offerings, student organization and fraternity/sorority advisement and employment opportunities, we empower students to be visionary, ethical, culturally competent and responsible members of our global community.

Dolce Center for Advancement of Veterans and Servicemembers

The Dolce Center aims to serve our military-related students by providing access to resources, programming, and opportunities that promote a positive Northeastern University experience as well as a successful transition to fulfilling employment and advancement after graduation.

LGBTQA Resource Center

The LGBTQA Resource Center initiates and sustains programs and services that enrich the holistic development of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual students and their allies. Recognizing the multiple identities that LGBTQA individuals hold, the LGBTQA Resource Center works actively to build a socially conscious community that welcomes difference, conflict, and intercultural engagement.

Social Justice Resource Center

The SJRC is a hub of innovative, justice-minded thinking, collaboration and action on campus that aspires to contribute to the common good.

Swipe2Care

Swipe2Care is a combined initiative from Student Government Association, Dining Services, and Student Affairs to provide a platform for students to donate their meal swipes to other students. The program is designed to allow students to seamlessly contribute meals from their meal plan while providing a confidential and efficient method for students–who may be having difficulty, for whatever reason–to find their next meal. To access Swipe2Care, go to Husky Card Preferences on the Student Hub and select from the left hand side bar.

Off-Campus Experiences

Alumni Relations

The Office of Alumni Relations is your catalyst to stay in touch with your lifelong Northeastern community, keep learning, access career strategies, engage with thought leaders and idea-generators, and find the resources you need to achieve what’s next.  OAR also operates the Co-op Regional Mentor Program, in which co-ops outside of Boston can sign up to be mentored by an alumnus in that area.

Off Campus Engagement and Support

OCES at Northeastern provides support and education related to off-campus housing, relocation services, renter’s rights knowledge, and community connection. OCES offers many resources, special programs, and events to help students find off-campus housing in Boston and beyond, stay connected to campus, and serve as a link to peers, alumni and the community. Northeastern Crossing

Northeastern Crossing aims to elevate the voices and visibility of Boston’s neighborhoods, particularly those from Roxbury, Mission Hill, Fenway, and the South End, provide greater access to resources at Northeastern University for Boston residents, and be a platform where Boston residents and the Northeastern University community can convene, interact, and learn from each other.

Global Experiences & Travel

Global Experience Office

Traveling abroad for a global program? GEO provides student support and logistics for all of Northeastern’s global programs, including study abroad, Dialogue of Civilizations, global co-op, global Quest, N.U.in, and NU Network.  Through evolving global networks for lifelong learning and discovery, GEO maximizes the power and reach of these networks. Together, the university will make global opportunities for learning and research more accessible and flexible for students, faculty, and partners.

International Safety Office

The International Safety Office (ISO) strives to assist NU travelers prior to travel by providing guidance, logistics assistance, and information in order to enhance traveler safety and security awareness. ISO also aims to monitor global events, assess the potential impact to NU travelers, communicate effectively with the NU community, and respond to emergencies beyond Boston.

My Travel Plans

My Travel Plans is the service offered by ISO and WorldAware to track Huskies as they travel beyond Boston (for personal or academic purposes).  Filling out My Travel Plans with means of transportation and accommodations will ensure Huskies are sent notifications about the region and ensure the university knows the students’ whereabouts.  To learn more about how to log your travel plans into My Travel Plans, follow these instructions.

Northeastern Travel Support Network

Available to all Northeastern University students, staff, and students, the Travel Support Network hosts the university’s new and improved Travel Registry and offers a range of support services, including urgent and emergency medical assistance for travelers outside the US on university travel.  Travelers will find the Travel Support Network to be easy to access and use. It can be accessed in the following ways:

  • Via a web browser, visit “My Travel Plans” in the Student Hub portal or directly via GardaWorld Travel Security  Users should enter their Northeastern email and then will be taken to a Northeastern log in screen to sign in with their Student Hub username and password.
  • Via the mobile App, download the mobile app by searching “GardaWorld Travel Security” in the App Store or Google Play Store. The new app allows you to register travel directly within the application.
  • Via Phone/email while traveling for university business, contact the 24/7 international assistance hotline +1.857.214.5332(international collect calls are accepted). The existing international assistance hotline will remain active during this transition.

Health & Safety

Disability Resource Center

The DRC is dedicated to partnering with the diverse population of students, staff, and faculty who we serve at Northeastern and in the surrounding community. The DRC strives to provide exemplary service, education, and resources in the work that they do. Their guiding principles are informed by federal law regarding disability and privacy, by the University’s policies on equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and the Student Code of Conduct, and also by the rights and the individual needs of the people who we serve.

Northeastern University Police Department

NUPD is a full-service and accredited police agency that comprises patrol and investigative divisions providing 24-hour service. NUPD has developed robust crime-detection and prevention strategies centered on technology and campus community engagement. Their well- trained officers are ready and willing to assist all members of our community.

Office of Prevention and Education (OPEN)

The Office of Prevention and Education at Northeastern provides prevention and education services on the topics of alcohol and other drugs, sexual violence, and sexual health. They seek to provide supportive, accessible and non-judgmental services to students as well as to engage our community on wellness-related topics.

Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution

OSCCR aims to engage the Northeastern University community in supporting, understanding, and appreciating the standards for community behavior by promoting accountability for actions, encouraging responsible decision-making, providing a space for self-reflection, and instilling the values of integrity and civility.

Office for University Equity and Compliance (Title IX)

The (OUEC) leads efforts to maintain the University’s compliance with all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to anti-discrimination, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Title IX.  The OUEC is responsible for investigating and resolving all complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation at Northeastern, including in the United States or abroad.

University Health and Counseling Services

University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) offers support, information, and response to Mental and Medical Health concerns. Their services include same day routine and urgent medical visits, walk-in mental health assessment and treatment, 24/7 mental health support, follow-up visits as needed for medical and mental health concerns, referral to clinical care resources in the community, immunization compliance, medical leave of absence, and Northeastern University Student Health Plan (NUSHP).

WeCare

The WeCare program is a support system for students during times of difficulty or challenge. WeCare is a network of administrative offices, university faculty, and staff who are dedicated to helping students address and solve problems so they can reach their full potential. WeCare’s partnership with many programs and departments across the Northeastern campus allows them to work together seamlessly to provide support services for a wide variety of challenges, from interpersonal problems and academic concerns to medical or mental health issues and personal tragedies.  Should an issue arise while a student is outside of Boston, WeCare can assist the student address and solve the problem in the best way possible.
